Sunshine School Vientiane was the first school in Laos to participate in Design For Change Challenge in 2011. We hope this story will inspire many others and the DFC team hope to infect many more children, schools and communities in Laos with the “I Can” bug in 2012!

This week in DFC Laos
One class at Sunshine school has completed their ‘feel’ stage, and the students have spoken up about various issues that concern them within their school, such as cleanliness and facilities. This is a great start as the students move on to the next stage in the coming weeks, to ‘imagine’ how they can improve their own school!

Over at the Australian International School, one class has also completed their ‘feel’ stage and are keen to do something to help a rural school that AIS has links with. As they move on to the ‘imagine’ stage, it will be exciting to hear from them on how they would like to reach out and connect with the rural school students!
Panyathip International School is also well ahead and one class has completed their ‘feel’ stage too. The students have decided that what bothers them most is that they are not able to play badminton at lunchtime. Let’s see how the students tackle this issue in the ‘imagine’ and ‘do’ stages!
Last but definitely not least, Sompanya school has just completed their introduction to DFC to students on Thursday, and is now ready to go full steam ahead with DFC! They will be starting their ‘feel’ stage next week.

On another note, DFC Laos is honoured to have Patoo Industries come on board to assist with the filming and production of a documentary for DFC Laos. Welcome on board!
